G Crook and Sons, established in 1972 by the late George Crook, have now been operating for some 37 years. Growing daily we have become a successful family owned business.

We specialise in driver and self drive plant hire with an extensive fleet of well-maintained machines, the majority of which are under three years old. Our fleet includes the JCB 3CX 4x4, tracked mini diggers from 3/4 tonne to 70 tonnes, wheeled excavators, forklift trucks, dumpers and many others.

Situated within our own landfill site at Crossways is a crushing plant from which we can supply crushed concrete and tarmac, together with a recycling facility for all other materials.

A second quarry site based at Portland, offers a full range of natural Portland Limestone from dust to large rockery sized stone.

In addition to this we run a fleet of tipper lorries, from 4 wheelers to 8 wheelers, 4 and 6 wheel grab lorries that operate from our landfill site. We manufacture and stock sands and aggregates, i.e. cobbles, natural gravel, topsoil etc. No limit is set on aggregates as we can supply you with 1 tonne dumpy bags of any materials you require.

For the smaller customers we offer a tipping facility together with the opportunity for purchasing small loads of aggregates collected ex-works.

Within the last few years we have opened our very own tyre depot based in Dorchester, with a friendly team with over 20 years experience between them. Catering for both small and large vehicles, tyre sales and puncture repairs, be it at roadside, workplace or our depot, we are always ready to assist. We cater for retail, agricultural, plant and commercial customers, are open 6 days a week and have a 24-hour emergency call out service. We have also formed Southern Counties Leisure on the A37 between Dorchester and Yeovil, here we offer corporate facilities along with leisure persuits including "Have a Go" Clay Shooting and"Arrive and Drive" Karting

New in 2010 was the George Albert Hotel, built at "Clay Pigeon" the Hotel caters for Shooters, Karters, and tourist / passing trade. The Hotel has been awarded AA high 3 Star status and has 39 bedrooms, all en suite with either Bath or Shower. please visit the George Albert Hotel web site.
