Additional Information
It is standard contractual practice throughout the entire hire industry for you, the hirer, to be responsible for the equipment hired. As a member of the Construction Plant Hire Association, G Crook and Sons hire all plant under the Construction Plant Hire Associations conditions for trade and consumers.
This responsibility is not just for the entire duration of the hire, but also until the plant has been collected.
Other than what is considered to be “fair wear and tear” any site damage is also the responsibility of you, the hirer. In addition to the cost of the equipment, the hirer would also be contractually liable for 2/3 continuing hire charges until settlement has been received in full.
When hiring expensive equipment we respectfully ask that you consider the possible huge financial implications of your responsibility as hirer and strongly advise you to cover yourself for the Loss / Damage by obtaining your own ‘hired-in’ plant insurance or by checking and confirming that you have sufficient cover under any other insurance policies that you may already have in place.
G Crook and Sons are able to offer an insurance waiver if required for an additional premium over and above the actual hire charge (excess fees may apply) and this will need to be agreed in writing prior to delivery of any hire equipment to domestic or commercial sites.
